Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) organized multiple Zoom conferences for students to compete through online testing and presentations starting Feb. 2- Apr. 1.
The FBLA Southern Section Leadership Conference (SSLC) allows students within the program to compete while developing testing taking skills, leadership knowledge and social networking.
Essentially, vice president junior Justin Huh believed SSLC provided advantages for members such as awards and meeting new people.
"SSLC is a great way to showcase your potential by competing for a variety of events. When our chapter wins awards, this allows us to see how much our hard work has paid off, which is why I am excited for this year's competition," Huh said. "Personally, I have prepared a lot for my events, so I am confident that I will place high this year."
Additionally, FBLA member Avery Liu felt inspired by the environment SSLC provided to its participants.
“The SSLC was a great experience; everyone was dressed professionally and seemed very prepared,” Liu said. “The competitive environment motivated me to do well on my events.”
Furthermore, secretary junior Karsten Ma felt thrilled to be participating in this year’s event.
“I am pretty excited for the conference and am not really nervous because I will be doing the same event as last year. This year, I was able to learn from my mistakes in the past conferences and prepare myself by studying a [variety of topics],” Ma said.
The next FBLA general meeting will be hosted on Feb. 18.
