How do you feel about starting a new year?

“Despite our current situation with a global pandemic, I am feeling pretty good entering the new year because I see this as more of a starter line into reinventing ourselves and fixing the mess left behind from 2020.”

What are some of your new year’s resolutions?

“I do not have many New Year’s resolutions since I like to focus on one goal at a time to avoid failed ones. One I am focusing on this year is having a positive attitude towards anything I do, whether it be a negative or positive situation.”

What are some things you want changed this year?

“What I would like to be changed this year is this country’s polarization. 2020 was definitely a very hectic year with the pandemic as well as the political unrest in America. With that being said, there has been an unhealthy separation between our own citizens that should be resolved to avoid further chaos.”

What is your most memorable moment from 2020?

“My most memorable moment from 2020 was when my parents’ car broke down in the middle of a highway in South Lake Tahoe. Although we were put into an unfortunate position, having the windows down letting the warm breeze hit us, an amazing view of the lake and just having each other to laugh it off definitely made up for it.”

What is one food you would eat for the rest of your life?

“One food I would eat for the rest of my life would be ramen.”

If COVID-19 was not occurring, what are some places you would like to travel to?

“If COVID was not around, I would definitely like to travel to Cancun, Mexico.”

What are your thoughts on the achievements you made in 2020?

“Despite the hard times, I am very proud of the achievements I made during 2020. There were many things I was unable to accomplish, but there was also much more I did achieve and I am very pleased with the result. This includes things such as finishing my college apps, getting a job and becoming SCP.”

Do you have any new goals you want to achieve in 2021?

“I have many goals that I want to achieve in 2021. The biggest goal I have for this year is getting accepted into one of my dream colleges.”

How did you spend New Year’s Day?

“I spent New Year’s Day with my family and I played some games with my friends.”

What are some of your favorite memories from 2020?

“My favorite memories from 2020 consist of hanging out with friends, going to school before the pandemic and being in ASB.”

What is your favorite movie?

“My favorite movie would probably be Frozen or the first Avengers movie because I watched those the most.”

What is your favorite hobby?

“My favorite hobby is playing video games.”

What are some accomplishments you are hoping for this year?

“The accomplishments I am hoping to achieve this year include getting my driver’s license, ending junior year with high grades and releasing the first issue of my mini magazine.”

How do you feel about 2021?

“I’m just happy to get a new start!”

What are some things you are going to miss from 2020?

“Despite being a harsh year, I am grateful for even the smallest of joys 2020 has brought me. One thing I will miss specifically was all the free time in the March-April quarantine since I was able to paint and review films!”

What are some changes you are hoping to be made this year?

“Regarding changes, my biggest hope for 2021 is that we are able to decrease our number of COVID-19 cases, and that everyone remains safe and healthy.”

What is your favorite animal?

“My favorite animal is a butterfly, specifically a monarch. I have multiple monarchs painted in my room as well as a pair of monarch butterfly earrings!”

What is a tv show character you find yourself relating to?

“Although I do not know many tv shows, I do have a few movie characters I relate to! One would be Clementine Kruczyinski from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Her perspective on difficult situations are similar to mine, and I love her personality!”

“Personally, I will not miss anything from 2020.”

“I hope that the virus will be under control by the end of the year.”

“My goal for 2021 is to keep my grades up.”

“My favorite tv show is The Flash.”

“My celebrity crush is Ariana Grande.”

How do you feel about 2020 ending?

“I feel that 2020 has been a very rough year. With it ending, it feels relieving and gives time for a fresh start.”

What are some things you would like to accomplish in 2021?

“For 2021, I would like to work on myself and continue to grow. Even though 2020 was not very fun, being at home gave me a chance to develop, and I want to continue doing that.”

How did you spend New Years Eve/ Day?

“I spent New Year’s Eve at home with my parents while on Facetime with my friends. Since my grandma’s birthday is the 31st, I visited her and celebrated New Year’s Day with her!”

Reflecting back on 2020, how do you feel about the achievements you made in that year?

“Reflecting back, I would say that I am proud of my achievements. Quarantine gave me time to work on myself and I was able to find new hobbies!”

What is your favorite movie?

“My favorite movie is 10 Things I Hate About You.”

Who is your favorite music artist?

“I do not really have a favorite music artist since I switch back-and-forth pretty often, but I would say Kali Uchis if I had to choose.”

“I am excited to go into the new year and I have high hopes for the future.”

“Going into a new year is always another chance to start better habits and goals for yourself, so I am looking forward to that.”

“The main goal I am looking forward to this year is having a positive mindset and good grades.”

“My favorite actor is Vin Diesel.”

“I enjoy watching action movies.”
